Certified Auditor ISO/TS 16949

About ISO/TS 16949:2009 - Supplier Auditor

The ISO/TS 16949:2009 was jointly developed by International Automotive Task Force (IATF) members and submitted to the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) for approval and publication. The document is a common automotive quality system requirements catalogue based on ISO 9001:2008, AVSQ (Italian), EAQF (French), QS-9000 (US) and VDA6.1 (German) automotive catalogues.

This document, coupled with customer-specific requirements defines quality system requirements for use in the automotive supply chain. The IATF developed a common registration scheme for third party supplier registration to the ISO/TS 16949:2009. The registration scheme includes third party auditor qualifications and training and common rules for consistent global registration.

What are the course objectives?

The course will include a detailed review of the requirements of ISO/TS16949:2009 and key differences with automotive sector standards (eg QS-9000, VDA6.1, EAQF).

Delegates will learn the methods of planning, undertaking, reporting and closing out findings from internal and second party audits against the requirements of ISO/TS16949:2009, and the associated core tools (APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC and Production Part Approval).

Who should attend?

The course is designed for delegates who have a working knowledge of quality systems within the automotive sector, including core tool knowledge (eg QS-9000) and previous auditing experience, and ideally involved in the implementation and/ or auditing of ISO/TS16949:2009.

Knowledge will be tested prior to course attendance and the course is given in English. Maximum 10 participants will be allowed!

Certificate

Candidates passing the stringent written exam and performance assessments will receive a certificate from SMMT, an IATF approved Oversight Office.

Note: Successful completion of the course does not qualify participants to conduct third-party audits!

SMMT is the only UK organisation able to qualify IATF-approved auditors, and will also act for the International Automotive Task Force in control of certification bodies contracted to issue ISO/TS 16949 certificates.
